To support double-digit annual growth, the French cycling equipment brand Ekoï has deployed a complete BOA Concept solution in its new 3,200 m² warehouse in Puget-sur-Argens (83). The overall project was led by logistics solutions integrator Matilog.

Driven by online sales and the craze for cycling, Ekoï has enjoyed constant success and average growth of 20% each year since its creation in 2001. Today achieving a turnover of 50 million euros , Ekoï, supported by Matilog, has chosen agility through BOA Concept solutions. To ship its 800 sporting goods references, 65% of which are international, and to make its stocks more reliable, Ekoï decides to expand its logistics space: “We chose to move to a new warehouse to meet several challenges; ship quickly and efficiently in order to guarantee the satisfaction of our customers, respond to the significant growth of Ekoï, improve the comfort of our logistics teams while making our stocks more reliable” underlines Pietro Cicoria, Director of Operations at Ekoï.

BOA Concept: scalable technology adapted to growing businesses

Matilog was tasked with managing the complete integration of logistics solutions, from procurement to delivery to the end consumer. Among the solutions retained, the firm selected automation solutions from BOA Concept. Stéphane Bulliod, manager of Matilog, explains: “I had already used these systems in another installation. For this project, it was obvious to call on BOA Concept. Their flexible, scalable and plug and play technologies adapt perfectly to dynamic organizations like Ekoï. These are solutions that are simple to install and reliable in the long term. They support the growth of Ekoï and can easily evolve. »

Increased productivity and greater working comfort

In reception, the BOA Concept conveyor system directs the packages towards the storage area where the integration of RFID chips has made it possible to facilitate the process and make inventory management more reliable. In fact, this mode of operation drastically reduces the error rate or stock shortages of Ekoï. The references are therefore available without delay on the merchant site. For outgoing flows, the bins containing products are redirected to an order validation area. RFID technology, associated with the WCS BOA Drive supervisor, facilitates the work of operators, reducing the error rate during preparation and therefore increasing end customer satisfaction. Once orders are consolidated across seven stations, they are sent to the shipping area where they are sorted by carrier. The warehouse, operational since April 6, is already offering remarkable results: a productivity gain of 30% compared to the old Ekoï logistics process and a considerable improvement in the working comfort of operators. While they used to cover up to 30 km on foot during peak activity, they now only do 4 to 5 km per day on average.

“Matilog provided us with a turnkey solution and introduced us to BOA Concept solutions. We are fully satisfied with this new organization” says Pietro Cicoria.

“This project perfectly illustrates how BOA Concept meets the needs of SMEs: by building adapted, flexible and scalable systems, easy to use by teams. Here, working alongside Matilog was instrumental in building an agile solution that met Ekoï’s growth challenges. We are delighted to participate” concludes Patrice Henrion, General Director of BOA Concept.
