As part of its growth plan, the specialist in the transformation of insulating glazing with high energy and environmental performance RIOU Glass signs a new strategic acquisition in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Bourgogne-Franche-Compté regions. The Normandy ETI has just finalized the repurchase of 100% of the shares in the Isère glassmaker Eurovitrage.

RIOU Glass is refining its network in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Bourgogne-Franche-Compté. After the acquisition of the Marcloptaire glass transformer Diffuver (Loire), ratified in January 2023, the Norman family ETI has just signed the repurchase of all the shares of its colleague Eurovitrage, domiciled in the town of Montbonnot-Saint-Martin in the North -East of the Grenoble metropolitan area (Isère). The external growth operation comes six years almost month to month after RIOU Glass acquired a 40% stake in Eurovitrage. The acquisition of the remaining 60% of the shares aims to consolidate its territorial coverage to assert its leadership in these two regions. “As early as 2018, we had the common desire to join forces so that one day Eurovitrage would join RIOU Glass and become a full member of our big family,” underlines Christine Riou-Feron, President of RIOU Glass. With the purchase of the Diffuver factory in Marclopt last year, then now the Eurovitrage industrial sites, we are strengthening our presence with a clear desire: to be the leader in glass products for the building sector in Auvergne-Rhône- Alps and Burgundy-Franche-Compté. »

Common operational and commercial synergies

To achieve its growth ambitions, as part of the “RIOU Glass Verre 2025” development plan, RIOU Glass will provide Eurovitrage with the numerous synergies enabled by its network of 16 processing plants located throughout France. Synergies in terms of purchasing, logistics, but also commercial by integrating into its catalog the group's wide range of high energy and environmental performance glass products: solar control glazing, reinforced thermal insulation... Through this acquisition, RIOU Glass integrates two new ultra-modern factories: that of Montbonnot-Saint-Martin, the headquarters of Eurovitrage, as well as its site in Pouilly-en-Auxois, west of Dijon.

Change in continuity

Eurovitrage will retain its name which will now be associated with that of RIOU Glass to become RIOU Glass.Eurovitrage. “By adding the name RIOU Glass, we are turning Eurovitrage towards the future while retaining the fundamentals that have made it successful” underlines Christophe Vergnaud, Managing Director of RIOU Glass. Pascal Chambon, the director of Eurovitrage and son of the founder, will ensure the smooth integration of EURIVITRAGE into the group. He joins the group as ERP project manager and will actively participate in its modernization on all sites in France. “I am delighted to begin this new adventure which will allow me to express my passion for information systems. Joining RIOU Glass was the best decision: that of ensuring the sustainability of the company in the long term, by being stronger” he testifies.
