The producer and distributor of wood fuels Wooday, a subsidiary of Everwood, announces the acquisition of the Ile-de-France company Bois Bûche Molinario (91). Objective: continue its national development by acquiring a new major production site strengthening its presence in Ile-de-France.

Wooday continues its strong development dynamic in France. The producer and distributor of wood fuel for the individual and professional markets completed a new external growth operation on June 5 by completing the 100% acquisition of the company Bois Bûche Molinario, based in Guibeville (91). Created and managed for more than 45 years by the Molinario couple, the company is a regional player recognized for its experience and the quality of its offer. From its Guibeville site, the family business ensures the purchase, production and delivery of wood logs to 5 departments of Ile-de-France: Seine-et-Marne (77), Yvelines (78), Essonne (91), Hauts-de-Seine (92), and Val-de-Marne (94). Each year, the company markets around 35,000 cubic meters, mainly to individuals, and employs 13 employees for a 2023 turnover of more than 3 million euros.

10 million euros for the Guibeville site by 2027

The acquisition of Bois Bûche Molinario will allow the Wooday group to increase its market share nationally and to strengthen its presence in Ile-de-France by integrating into its network a new production site for a historic brand with already a strong reputation in the sector. The external growth operation is accompanied by a 3-year strategic plan. Its aim is to increase the activity of Bois Bûche Molinario so that the Guibeville site reaches more than 10 million euros in turnover by 2027. To do this, it provides for the rise in power of production capacities, the diversification of its offer through the launch in particular of pellets or even compressed logs in bulk and in pallets. Finally, it aims to expand its catchment area throughout Ile-de-France by opening other distribution sites.

Wooday: strong development ambitions in a fragmented market

The acquisition of Bois Bûche Molinario marks Wooday's 4th external growth operation since its creation in 2017, positioning the player as a consolidator in the sector. Specializing in the production and distribution of firewood, Wooday delivers throughout France through a solid logistics network consolidated by its own locations, a strong digital presence, and through a network of around a hundred delivery points and click & collect. The company therefore has 4 production sites in Angoulême, Le Mans, Nantes and Guibeville. It also owns 4 online sales platforms (le-kastor.com, boisenergienord.fr, bois-brazeco.com and boisbuchemolinario.fr) and offers an in-store collection service.

Following on from the Bois Bûche Molinario acquisition, Wooday plans the imminent opening of two new distribution branches in the Greater West. A national expansion strategy that the player intends to direct towards the East thanks to its offer mixing physical locations with digital merchant sites. The new openings will be accompanied by the launch of a bulk pellet delivery offer this summer, as well as the marketing of a complete range of products for the BtoB market under the “Wooday” brand. Projects which should allow the actor to multiply its turnover by five within five years.

“At a time when French households are increasingly concerned by the rise in energy prices, wood heating is the most economical and local solution for heating. At Wooday, we want to meet consumers' expectations by providing them with suitable, quality wood fuel available throughout the national territory. It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the acquisition of Bois Buche Molinario which fits perfectly into our development plan which aims to make Wooday a leading player in the production and distribution of wood fuels in France” testifies Xavier Mahieu, Sales and Marketing Director of Wooday.

The acquisition of Bois Bûche Molinario was carried out with the assistance of banking partners Banque Populaire Val de France and Banque Populaire Grand Ouest.
