PTV Logistics presents the new generation of its flagship software, Map&Guide
Supply chain software publisher PTV Logistics announces a major milestone with the launch of the new generation of its flagship software, PTV Map&Guide . A pillar of the company for 30 years, this update marks a strategic step forward by integrating enhanced features that meet the industry's new requirements in terms of route calculation, toll costs and compliance with environmental and social objectives.
Launched three decades ago, PTV Map&Guide has revolutionized truck route planning and has established itself as the reference tool for thousands of shippers and carriers across Europe, such as Saint-Gobain Glass Logistics and Transports Ducarroz in France. Today, PTV Logistics unveils a completely modernized version of this tool, the result of years of know-how. This new version, designed to offer a simplified and more intuitive user experience, offers more efficient planning and ever more precise calculations of transport costs, CO2 emissions, tolls and distances traveled. The objective: to improve the quality of service for user companies.
Planning adapted to electric vehicles
The interface, completely redesigned for better ergonomics, allows for easier handling of the software. Among the new features, PTV Map&Guide now offers route planning for electric vehicles (EVs), allowing users to compare these journeys with other types of vehicles. This advancement accompanies the transition to greener fleets. In addition, toll calculation has been improved, now taking into account alternative vehicles, such as those running on natural gas or electricity, for a more accurate estimation of costs.
Integration of Low Emission Zones (LEZ)
Managing new environmental regulations is at the heart of this new version. The integration of Low Emission Zones (LEZ) allows routes to be adjusted according to European emissions stickers and electronic toll systems, thus ensuring simplified compliance with local requirements. The software also optimizes journeys by taking into account criteria such as service duration, time slots or the type of load. This allows for faster and more reliable calculations, particularly for complex or long-distance journeys.
Worldwide coverage, anticipating traffic conditions
PTV Map&Guide is finally expanding its reach globally, offering companies the ability to plan international routes. By taking into account seasonal and regional traffic patterns, the software anticipates traffic jams and adjusts routes accordingly, helping to avoid costly delays.
Goran Vareskic, agency director of the carrier and logistician Integre Trans, testifies: "With PTV Map&Guide , we calculate transport costs quickly and precisely, which allows us to better evaluate the profitability of our orders."
Holger Indervoort, Product Manager at PTV Logistics, adds: “This new generation of PTV Map&Guide sets a new standard in route planning for all types of road vehicles. The result of advanced technology and user-centric design, it reflects our commitment to always evolving in line with the needs of our customers and the market.” In this spirit of continuous improvement, PTV Logistics is already planning further improvements to meet the needs of a constantly evolving sector.
