As part of its strategy to decarbonize its deliveries, and to support its industrial customers, the Vendée transporter Derocq installed an ultra-fast electric charging station from CHARGEPOLY engineering at the end of April. A transition to electrification which is taking place month by month 20 years after the creation of the family business.

There are exemplary business journeys that are achieved through hard work. This is the case of the Vendée carrier Derocq, created by its founder and current director Damien Derocq. In 2004, Damien Derocq decided to launch Transports Derocq: a family transport company which he domiciled in the town of Montaigu-Vendée (85). Alone, he traveled the region's roads for five years to deliver to his first customers. In 2015, he made a strategic decision. Damien Derocq buys Transports Revelaud to give a national scope to his activity. 5 years later, new external growth operation. This time, the manager acquired Transports Soulard, allowing him to develop in the construction market. 20 years after its creation, the company employs 80 people and has a fleet of nearly 70 Euro 6 standard tractors, which deliver to major carpentry, food industry and construction industries. With a 4,000 m2 logistics warehouse located at its headquarters, the company is in the process of building a second 3,000 m2 building in the Chavagnes-en-Paillers commune meeting the requirements of RE2020, which it is already considering. loosen. The storage building, which will be delivered in December, will be equipped with 3,000 m2 of solar panels allowing it to gradually make its energy transition.

To green its vehicle fleet, Damien Derocq has chosen electrification. “After testing other sources of energy, electricity seems to me the best solution for the future,” says Damien Derocq. For environmental reasons of course, but also economical. There cannot be an energy transition without taking into account this cost logic, which is vital for our businesses. ". Based on this analysis, the transporter has just invested in the purchase of 3 Renault Trucks tractors, received at the beginning of April, as well as a fourth truck from a German manufacturer, available for delivery in the first quarter of 2025. To load the vehicles already received, the Transports Derocq chose to install an ultra-fast charging station from CHARGEPOLY at the end of April. The latter is equipped with a conversion cabinet (Power Unit) which serves 3 charging satellites, delivering an installed power of 200 kW. The electric vehicles shuttle locally from two production plants to the depot of a large logistics provider. Tours of 250, 450 to 650 km, in 2x8, depending on transport needs. After a few weeks of use, Damien Derocq says he is “very satisfied with the solution and its partnership with CHARGEPOLY”. A choice that fell towards Aix engineering for its offer, the French manufacturing of its charging solution, and the quality of listening and support of its teams.
