As part of its strategy to decarbonize its transport activity, the logistics service provider BERT&YOU has just commissioned an ultra-fast electric charging station from the specialist CHARGEPOLY in Sorgues in the Vaucluse department. A second will be installed in July in Drôme.

BERT&YOU focuses on green mobility. And that’s saying something! Under the leadership of Yann Colin, the transporter and logistician has created an internal unit entirely dedicated to monitoring, sourcing and implementing solutions aimed at decarbonizing its activity using green infrastructure and energy: biofuel, gas, hydrogen and for three years electricity. “We started in 2021 by electrifying the fleet vehicles that move trailers to logistics sites. Since then, seven have been deployed,” comments Yann Colin, director of green mobility within the BERT&YOU group. To strengthen this approach to electrifying its fleet, the logistics service provider acquired a Renault Trucks transporter and three 100% electric Volvo FM tractors for its deliveries last year, thus bringing its fleet to eleven vehicles.

Up to six charging points per station eventually

To recharge the Renault Trucks carrier and two of the recently acquired Volvo tractors, BERT&YOU acquired two ultra-fast charging stations from Aix-based CHARGEPOLY engineering. One was deployed at the end of April at its agency in Sorgues, in Vaucluse. It will make it possible to reload the 16 tonnes assigned to deliveries to the city center of Marseille. The second charging point will be operational in July in Saint-Rambert-D’albon, in Drôme. It will supply electricity to the two tractors carrying out collection operations in the region on behalf of an industrial customer. Each of the CHARGEPOLY stations are equipped with three charging stations with the possibility of upgrading the installation to six distribution points according to the future needs of BERT&YOU. The “Power Unit HP200” conversion cabinets each deliver an installed power of 200 kW.

Mastery of intelligent charging technology

A multitude of factors pushed BERT&YOU to opt for CHARGEPOLY. Firstly, mastery of technology: “CHARGEPOLY designs, manufactures and installs its own solutions, stations and software. This is very reassuring because it guarantees total mastery of their technologies and ensures optimal after-sales service. Their support, from the discussion phase (pre-sales) to the start-up of the station, is also an undeniable quality of CHARGEPOLY” explains Yann Colin. Another argument, Made In France: “In our choices of service providers, we try to work with French companies, agile like CHARGEPOLY, to co-build the future together. » he continues. Finally, the intelligence of the CHARGEPOLY solution also tipped the scales towards the Aix-based company. “The station, made up of a Power Unit and three 200kW satellite terminals, provides great flexibility both in deployment and in its use, with a small footprint. Its software also allows vehicles to be recharged according to our operating constraints - schedules, battery size, etc. - which is a real plus” analyzes the director of green mobility. Between 2025 and 2027, BERT&YOU plans to deploy new stations in around ten of the group's agencies.
